This year has been quite the year for weddings, especially popular “micro weddings”! My heart has really gone out to brides and grooms. I can’t imagine all of the planning, and then re-planning and uncertainty they’re going through. But, if I’ve learned one thing this year, it’s that no matter how big or small or extravagant your wedding is, the only thing that matters is that you’re marrying your best friend on your wedding day! That in itself makes for the most perfect wedding, that even Covid-19 can’t ruin! Witnessing Lizzy & Jay marrying one another in their Darien wedding totally made me cry!
Originally, Jay and Lizzy were supposed to have their big Darien wedding in 2020, but the world had different plans! When Covid-19 hit, we waited as long as we could to see what to do about their wedding day. And, as their wedding day quickly approached, they decided it would be best to have a micro wedding this year and their big wedding and celebration next year. Personally, I think Covid-19 has brought a silver lining for brides and grooms – many of them get to have two weddings! A small intimate one and then a big celebration next year!
Lizzy & Jay’s wedding day was so special and unique. They had a combination of their closest family & friends in person and tuning in virtually (Check out the alter! How awesome is that idea!?). They were both radiating with happiness, and it’s so clear these two are meant for one another. Most of all, I can’t wait to photograph and celebrate their big wedding next summer!
Congratulations Lizzy & Jay!
