This was such a perfect day for a seaside engagement session! This session happened back in 2021, but is still one of my favorites to this day. I’ll admit, I’m REALLY slow at blogging, and catching up is a bit painful. But, seeing some of my favorite sessions all over again makes my heart happy! I love re-living capturing these beautiful moments through these photos, and Kathleen and Josh have such great chemistry (as you can tell from the photos). Great chemistry, totally makes my job easy!
I always strongly suggest having an engagement session because it really helps me get to know the couple and see how comfortable they are in front of the camera, and it also allows the couple to see how I am as a photographer! Some couples need more direction, while others just naturally fall into place in front of the camera. Typically, I’ll start giving more direction at the beginning of a session, and by the end the couple has found their own flow and doesn’t need much direction at all!
If you’re nervous about your engagement session or how “photogenic” you’ll be in front of the camera, don’t worry! I have never had a couple that hasn’t done well in front of the camera – the nerves and awkwardness always melts away after a few minutes of getting to know each other!
This session was photographed in one of my favorite little seaside towns – Southport, CT. To see more sessions from Southport, check out the links below!
