Roger Sherman Inn – A Quaint New England Wedding Venue

Michael & Ariana exchanged wedding vows at one of my favorite wedding venues – Roger Sherman Inn in New Canaan, CT! Leading up to their big day, we were anticipating a lot of rain, but we were so blessed with great weather! Throughout the day we kept an eye on the radar and we photographed quickly to get through family portraits, hoping to dodge the rain. Just as we finished and headed inside for the reception, huge rain clouds suddenly appeared and it began storming. And then, in God’s perfect timing, just as the reception ended and it was time for Michael & Ariana’s exit, the rain stopped! I always tell my couples not to stress too much about bad weather on their day. It’s always a good idea to have a back-up plan (so we aren’t panicking last minute!), but usually we’re able to move the schedule around a little bit to work around any bad weather that may be heading our way. 

Reasons Roger Sherman is One of My Favorite Venues

I love to photograph small intimate weddings and this venue is the perfect backdrop for these types of nuptuals. Its New England charm, historical setting and beautiful grounds and landscaping offers a variety of backdrops for photography. Add in the different locations for the ceremony (the back yard behind the carriage house, the lawn behind the venue, or even the large deck), it offers such a variety of options! The food is delicious, and their wedding coordinator, Sue, is alway on top of everything and is oh so sweet!
